okay, what do we wear?

what do we do with the images?

where should we go?

why do we need a photoshoot?

This has to be the #1 question I'm asked regarding your session. The simple answer is - wear something you feel AMAZING in when you look in the mirror! If you are worried about fabric bunching or skirt riding up, you won't be able to connect fully with your partner. The whole truth - when you feel amazing - you Look amazing!
There are some great outfit ideas on Pinterest, but the next few wardrobe tips will hopefully help you out!

Wedding photos are amazing, but wedding photography is really capturing what you're doing. Engagement photography is capturing images of who you are right now, and I promise that's something you really want to remember too.
Lots of couples use their images as decor around their venue to help their guests connect with their love story. If you've like save the dates or a guestbook we can do that too!

Let's find a spot that's meaningful to you both! When you feel comfortable in the surroundings you are free to connect to each other and really make the session outstanding. We will send you a questionnaire to help figure out what kind of locations appeal to you and then we'll send over some suggestions! Maybe by the lake, at a favorite orchard, or even a cityscape!!
Sky's the limit!

This is your time to be in front of the camera with absolutely no pressure! You get to be you, and love on your honey, and have beautiful photographs taken of the two of you at the same time. During the engagement session, it'll just the three of us hanging out for an hour or so, no pressure. We get a chance to joke around, make some memories, and get to know each other on a whole new level.

PROPS & ACCESORIES
Don't be afraid to accessorize! Cute hats, scarves, bracelets, necklaces, chunky rings, earrings, watches, belts, shoes, hair accessories they all add visual interest to your images.
Props can add a fun twist to your session. It can be as simple as a hat or sunglasses, or you can bring a sign that says “we’re engaged” etc, bring a picnic with champagne, or even just a cozy blanket to cuddle up with!

CLEAN THE RING
The ring is a star of the engagement session. Try soaking them for a few minutes in a tiny bowl of hot water, with a squirt of Dawn and a few squirts of windex. Then, with a soft toothbrush, I clean under the diamond and around the band with the hot mixture and baking soda. Rinse them under hot water. They look like new and really sparkle!

BEAUTIFUL YOU
We find our clients are most comfortable in front of the lens when they've had hair and makeup professionally done... It makes a HUGE difference! if you're going to wax your brows, do it one week in advance to avoid redness.
Also you don't need to tan for your engagement session! Tanning, especially spray tans can make you look really orange-y on camera, we want your natural glow instead!

HAVE FUN!
This is one of the most exciting times in your life! Everyone is a little nervous in front of the camera - me included! But try to remember this session is about being with the one you love. Be present and connected to them. Soak in how they look back at you, how they hold you and how they make you laugh! If you do I promise it will be an incredible experience, and you'll have the photos to bring you right back to that day!

DATE NIGHT!
Don’t forget to plan a dinner date. You’re already going to be all dressed up! Why not take advantage of it? We know the wedding planning process can feel all-consuming, so take some time after the session just for the two of you to relax and have some fun together.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Well - it's Florida and that does happen a lot!
Unless we are planning for specific rain session (think umbrellas and kissing and holding hands and jumping in puddles), we will reschedule. Since we can't pick the weather we get on your wedding day - I like to make sure you have a beautiful day for your engagement session.
But rainy days usually end is amazing sunsets!

SAY YES TO THE DRESS
Long dresses and skirts look amazing on camera because they bring movement to the photos. Cute, shorter-length dresses photograph beautifully as well. Dresses and skirts really flatter the female body — which is why the red carpet is always full of dresses and not many pantsuits! We recommend avoiding pants and shorts for your session, and saying yes to a dress or two.

FurBabies!
Can you bring your pup? YES!
We totally love seeing you in your element with your favorite four legged fur-baby! We just ask that a pet handler accompany you on our session so your pooch is perfectly tended to when not in front of our lens.

COLOR SCHEME
When choosing colors, we recommend selecting lighter tones and more muted shades. We want all the attention to your faces and the eye focus on the way you feel about each other. Shades of soft pink and muted blues, mixed with light neutrals like heather gray, creams, leather brown and white. That softer color palette fits beautifully into almost all natural outdoor environments.

Wear something you feel AMAZING in. If you feel amazing you will LOOK amazing too! Do not to wear ill fitting clothing or anything you're not comfortable in.  Jeans with a cute top is perfectly fine. Jeans with a t-shirt might be a too casual for your engagement photos. Also plan to coordinate with your partner not match!
