my Why...

This is were things get real.... I've struggled my whole life with self love.  I have a birthmark, it was a huge part of molding my self image, especially while growing up. I never truly felt beautiful until my wedding day.  And by looking back at my wedding pictures I didn't just feel it, I could see it.  The funny thing was, it wasn't my hair or makeup or even the dress that made me feel beautiful.  It was seeing the way my (now) husband looked at me.  The way he made me smile when I looked back at him.  Seeing the laughter between myself and my bridesmaids, the hug from my dad, the wink my Mom gave me as I passed her down the aisle.  Although I always remember feeling loved, it was only after that day that I realized "beautiful" wasn't as much of a  physical attribute - it was an emotional one.  And I had that in spades...
